Presented by the nonprofit Society of Arts and Crafts, CraftBoston is among the premier juried exhibitions and sales of contemporary craft in the U.S. The twice-annual show features the most outstanding artists of our time, showcasing one-of-a-kind and limited edition baskets, ceramics, decorative fiber wearables, furniture, glass jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper and wood.
JURY PROCESS/JURORS
A qualified panel of three independent jurors is assembled
each year to score the CraftBoston Spring and Holiday
applications simultaneously. Jurors are selected for their
extensive knowledge and expertise in varying craft media and
their contributions to the contemporary craft community.
The CraftBoston 2018 jurors are:
BRIAN FERRELL
is Associate Professor of Art at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. Ferrell regularly exhibits his
functional sculptures, one-of-a-kind furniture and custom tableware in group and solo exhibits on a national level. He has also been published in American Craft Magazine and purchased by private collectors in the US and Europe.
BRIGITTE MARTIN
is the creator and editor of crafthaus, an online social network for professional craft artists worldwide.
She is the current president of the Society of North American Goldsmiths and a regularly contributing writer for American Craft Magazine.
JANET KOPLOS
is a longtime writer and editor for Art in America magazine in New York, recently served as guest editor
of American Craft magazine. She is author of Contemporary Japanese Sculpture and other books.
