Kelly Munro - Scottish Jeweler inspired by the Fishing Industry

"My jewellery designs are ever evolving, creating new and exciting work for each exhibition. Each piece uses combinations of colored wood, metals and sometimes textile."

Website statement:

Kelly grew up on the north-east coast of Scotland in a small town called Wick. She is heavily inspired by the town's historic fishing industry. Her collection draws inspiration from creels, nets, ropes, and buoys. Her most recent collection is inspired by the drifting tides of Caithness.

Combining wood and silver, she creates bold color contrast with detailed, net-like structures in silver. Kelly exhibits her work mostly in the United Kingdom. She is currently based in Glasgow at Briggait Artist Studios.

Kelly is working towards her winter shows starting with MADE in London 19-22nd of October, Crathes Castle- Aberdeen 10th-12th of November, Wick Norseman Hotel 17th-19th November and Eden Court - Inverness 8-10th December.
