Hi Renee, Sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet. We have unexpected houseguests. My nieces came in for the weekend and decided to stay a few more days. I've been busy keeping them busy ;) I am so sorry about your cat's illness, I hope things go well (Friday?) Funny...I was thinking I might drive over to the MSG show and back myself on Saturday. Maybe carpool? We could have that coffie on the way.

I thouroughly enjoyed your page. Very inspiring and beautiful, thank you. Also found your comments on grief to be thought provoking.
Renee, it sounds like you and Catherine worked everything out, so all is well. Your work looked beautiful! Looking forward to seeing you at SNAG here in Seattle next year. Sarah
Hi, Renee!
I have enjoyed looking at your work for so long -- how nice to be able to see an entire body of it here! So enigmatic and thought provoking. Also love the "countertop" display method; that seems very appropriate.
Keep up the good work!
best regards,
nisa blackmon
Hi Renee, I did my MFA at Cal State Long Beach in 2007. It is a new and growing program, but it is the only school in LA or Orange county CA that has a metals MFA. Can you believe that? Furthermore, the last grad to go through the program before me finished in 2003. We now have 5 grads working toward a metals degree. We have great facilities with traditional metals, foundry, and blacksmithing areas all under the metals program. Most of our seminar classes are interdisciplinary or with sculpture students leading to a higher level of conceptual content than pure beauty / adornment in our work. Between CSULB and Long Beach City College, we produce a good number of BFA and AA students that move on to other cities. It is a shame that we did not get to meet in Philly. I am interested in learning more about your work and your underlying concepts. Do you do any writing?
Cheers, MDB

Next week looks good we can meet at the studio (Grand Haven) or somewhere in between.
I am going to try to make the MSG reception.

Why thank you! That is an extra lovely compliment coming from you. I’ve often seen and admired your work in print. Such evocative and witty pieces.
