Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you - I am especially busy right now with upcoming show deadlines and some custom orders. St. Louis has a nice metals community going on in the bi-state area…we started a metals guild a few years back (The Society for Midwest Metalsmiths - consider joining) which has been a good way to meet others in the field in addition to bringing in artists and hosting sales and shows. Craft Alliance has been growing their metals department with good instructors, and the area has Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Maryville University St. Louis, and Fontbonne offering metalsmithing courses. How's the metals climate in KC?

Your welcome, I really enjoy your work. I have actually made some more rubber band pieces since, you reminded me that I should upload those photos! Right now I'm exploring some new things, but I may go back to the rubber bands at some point.

Beautiful work, Cheryl. I love the shadows the pieces cast, too - feels like they are meant to be an extension of the work…lovely!

My real name is Dauvit Alexander. (Pronounced "Davit"!) I never thought that people wouldn't know my proper name when I created the profile.

Hi Cheryl,

Theatrical folks use a product call "Spirit Gum" to afix all sorts of things to skin. It holds up very well under temperature, flex and stress, and its invisible when applied. Non-toxic and washes off with alcohol. Its commonly available in theatrical supply shops.

Thank so much everyone. I'm very excited to be part of this site and seeing so much good work.
This has been a new series I started which I will further explore. For now, I used tape to hold them up. I'm still trying to figure out what I could use, perhaps some tattoo glue.

Dear Cheryl:

Welcome to crafthaus ! I am very glad you joined us. I just emailed you something in regards to your question re Luke and Eloy - I am glad to see you here too :-))

There is always a lot of activity on the site, so it would be great if you could uploaded some images of your artwork. Many of your fellow artists will be getting to see what you are doing and I am sure you will get some great feedback quickly. When you upload pictures, please use the main PHOTO link to do so. That way, the photos will appear in the main slideshow and on your personal page.

Please feel free to add your comments to the blog/discussion topics that are already posted. Of course, if there is something else you'd much rather talk about, please add that to the site so that the rest of us can chime in.

I really hope you will enjoy being with this network and find the exchanges interesting and fun. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it, for sure.

If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me anytime. I will do my best to be of help.
