The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Art Jewelry Forum (AJF) is a global, nonprofit organization like no other in the field. It connects makers, educators, curators, galleries, and collectors alike. Just one vibrant example is our dynamic website, which receives more than 15,000 visits each month! We invite you to become part of this fast-growing community by joining as a member school.

As one of the European board members, I am keen to tell you about the benefits AJF offers you, your students, and young alumni for your $250 annual membership. These include:
You and a colleague are listed as members and receive newsletters and invitations to all AJF events and activities.
We list your information as well as your school's, and link our site to yours. (This school index page is second in viewings only to our home page. Visitors want this content.)
Your $250 school membership provides global visibility and opportunities for you and your students.
Your graduating students can exhibit their portfolios and MFA dissertations on our website.
We partner with you to bring thought-provoking lecturers to your school.
In addition, you have access to a searchable website and blog with content that provides a 24/7 resource center and inspiration generator. Every week, we publish new, critical, and varied points of view on developments in the jewelry field in the form of articles, reviews, interviews, stories, videos, and lectures. This enables you to keep abreast of our creative, diverse, and international field.

As a thought leader, AJF also publishes books, such as last year's Contemporary Jewelry in Perspective (Damian Skinner, editor) and the recent AJF Best of Interviews. Many educators are already incorporating Skinner's benchmark edition into their curriculum.

And we award a generous and prestigious grant to an emerging artists, propelling them toward a successful career. This could be one of your recent alums!

Imagine one global resource--the AJF website--where prospective students can compare schools and programs. A place where current students can find content that kindles their growing interest in the field, and where young alumni have the chance to publish their writing and build connections. AJF provides this incredible opportunity. But we need your support to grow it and keep it vibrant. Please join today.
