The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

AT THE BENCH!
WEEKLY NEWS

I have just been informed that due to an overwhelming response for the Jewellery Summer School in Sedbergh, North Yorkshire, this Summer the July week is now available for bookings. This is such a fantastic opportunity, making and talking about jewellery making morning, noon and night.

There are now places available on the July week 14th - 17th July if any one is interested in taking a 4 day jewellery making course with Andrew this Summer. There are students who took the course last year that are returning this year, they loved the whole experience that much. Again, there are limited number of places available, so if you are interested get in touch as soon as possible.

Andrew is teaching in Sedbergh School, one of England's leading independent schools sitting in a safe rural environment, in the stunning countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Monday 14th - Thursday 17th July. Over £100 worth of materials included in the course, no hidden costs.

The programme offers up to eight hours of tuition a day with a hot lunch included in the price. Advice and guidance on continuing skills post course and appropriate suppliers will be provided. Experience techniques ranging from traditional hand skills to state of the art Computer Aided Machining, encompassing up to 8 separate projects including: - Silver gem set rings and pendants - Cold forging silver and raising copper - Laser engraving anodised aluminium - Different forms of casting—Cuttlefish, Delft Clay, and Investment.

More information call the school 015396 20535 or click here - Sedbergh School

Have a great weekend and enjoy your jewellery making.

Hi there,

I'm looking for talented jewellery designers to exhibit in a space I have in East London. Ideally I'm looking for silver smiths, do you know of any? Or of anywhere that offers that course?

Thanks

Tash
