I am at that point. The point where the lid to the vial/locket is mocking me, refusing to do what I need it to, and where the to-do list is weighing heavily on my mind. The point where I suddenly fear going into the studio because of the failures that might happen. I know this point well. It's the point that I just have to get past. I have to respect the metal, the material, and work with it rather than simply imposing my will. As new-agey as that might sound, I find it to be true with most materials. Let the communication and teamwork begin.

Yes, I'm familiar with these feelings--usually nearing the deadline of creating something! Everything has turned out marvelously. Sometimes it's best to take the night off, walk away, and come back with fresh eyes the next day. Or to simply work on another task for a bit.

Brigitte--the yarn is a tencel yarn I found through Webs. It's gorgeous and has a nice shine to it! And oh-so-soft, too.

This is a situation everyone faces at some point, and it will keep coming back in irregular intervals during your work life. As you already said, the best thing to do is to work through this despite the trepidations.

My suggestion is to actually start with the task that worries you the most and keep working your way down to easiest. Oftentimes, the thing that we think is the most difficult turns out to be less hard and unpleasant after all, which in turn makes the rest of the project better to deal with as well.

Courage! Let us hear how this turned out. The threads you're using are a lovely blue color btw.
