is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

DBACE 2017 is looking for those imaginative, pioneering students with creative ideas and an entrepreneurial mindset. Students may be starting their own arts based social enterprise or launching their career as an artist with a project - either route is eligible to apply for an award.

All winners will also receive business mentoring from a senior Deutsche Bank employee. All shortlisted students will receive two days of intensive small business training.
Applications open on Monday, January 16, 2017, and involves submitting a plan detailing a creative project or business.
There are a number of ways that you can support your students in applying for the Award:

3. Run a DBACE workshop for students
We are very keen to support universities to run DBACE information workshops for students. Access our universities resources page to download marketing materials and a presentation for you to deliver to your students.
4. Host a previous DBACE Winner
We have found that students are inspired to apply to DBACE after hearing a previous winner speak about their experience of winning the Award. If you are running a DBACE workshop for your students, we may be able to provide a previous winner to provide tips, guidance and a personal insight into applying for DBACE.
We are offering this opportunity to universities between Monday, November 21, 2016 and the end of January 2017.
If you are interested in hosting such an event, please email an expression of interest to info@dbace.uk.com, detailing the date and time of the session you are hosting, plus the number of students who will be in attendance. The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday, November 4 at 5pm. We will confirm the session with you the week of Monday, November 7.
Please note: this is a limited opportunity, and the previous DBACE Winner will not be expected to deliver the session.
5. Online support for students
We will be uploading more online resources to support students, including a guide to writing a project plan, plus tips and guidance videos. We'll let you know when these are online.
For more information on DBACE 2017, please visit www.dbace.uk.com or email us at info@dbace.uk.com
Best wishes,
The DBACE team

Dear Members,
we urgently need volunteers to help on the ACJ stand at the Goldsmiths' Hall on 1st & 2nd November for the Make Your Mark event, organised by the Assay Office London.
This is aimed at students on metal courses across the UK.
We need people to staff our stall and tell visitors about ACJ and the benefits of being a member.
If you could spare a couple of hours, this would really help.
Tuesday November 1st, the event is open 2.00 to 6.00pm.
On Wednesday 2nd, the Hall will open at 10.00 am and the event finishes at 4.30pm.
If you are able to help, please email projects@acj.org.uk
THANK YOU!!
