Monday’s Child - A Weekly Creative Shot in the Arm

Margherita Marchioni has spent close to a decade rummaging and salvaging an immense vocabulary of materials. Saying that she has recycled them is putting it mildly. Marchioni doesn’t transform her materials, but rather she encourages them to experience their most unexpected possibilities. Every discarded material has its own subjective energy, and is able to give rise to infinite creative solutions.

Enjoy the “unexpected” selections which show jewelry made of pencils, plastic bags, parts, sunglasses and bottles. There are also handbags made of thread bobbins, chopsticks and pencils.

Neck Piece by Margherita Marchioni worn by Alice Simpson

Wearing this double row of colored pencils ensures that wherever I go, someone is certain to smile and say, "Love your necklace. Why, they're colored pencils!"

I was introduced to Margherita Marchioni by the Monday's Child blog of 2Roses. It was a pleasure doing business with Margherita. She communicates well, is very professional, and she shipped the neckpiece to me quickly—from Italy to Southern California.

Her work is creative and imaginative, making use of recycled materials.

Thank you for the update Alice. We'd love to see what Margherita has made for you. Post a pic, or better yet, one of your spectacular self-portraits.

Have just purchased a spectacular neckpiece from Margherita Marchioni thanks to this write-up. She has been wonderfully patient with me, and all my questions and requests.

I look forward to wearing it—and all the oohs and ahhs it will get (I DO love attention).
