The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

clerkenwell design week

http://www.clerkenwelldesignweek.com/cdw-additions/kei-tominaga/?ut...

KEI TOMINAGA was launched in 2012 as jewellery, silverware and metalwork design brand by Kei Tominaga, a London based artist originally from Tokyo.

Tominaga pursued metal sculpture and smithing both in the undergraduate and master’s degree at Tokyo University of the Arts. After graduation, she began her career in product design to bring her work to a wider audience. Besides working on solo contemporary product collections, she has also collaborated with global architects and designers.

Tominaga brings ‘lightness’ to metal objects. She treats metals just as other everyday materials such as paper and fabric. She believes that pursuing simplicity will bring out the strength and purity of metal.

KEI TOMINAGA’s new line of wall panel series and metal objects ( sculpture) – Texture on Reflection – is launching at CDW. She creates texture on the bent/ curved metal surfaces that provides continual variation in the look of her work.

Craft Central Moves To The Forge

http://craftcentral.createsend1.com/t/ViewEmail/i/4E530E9DE7AECBD0?...

The Forge, grade 2 listed, was part of the Victorian iron shipbuilding industry. The imaginative conversion by Emrys Architects and iSpace Corporate Interiors places a free standing birch wood construction within the listed walls. There will be self-contained studios, workspaces, meeting rooms and a large exhibition space using the full height of this magnificent building....

Createch 2017 brings together established global leaders from a variety of economic sectors who will share their vision for the next 20 years with businesses in the Createch sector who will share how they are disruptors and innovators in this space.

Participants from industry will be able to meet with Britain’s leading creative thinkers, communication specialists, designers and developers of artificial intelligence and virtual reality solutions to help them differentiate their product / service, find new ways of engaging with customers and generate loyalty.

Participants from the Createch sector will hear about the challenges and opportunities that the blurring of technology into every part of our lives presents to global companies and gain insights into how the sector can help shape our collective future.

Jeweller Corrinne Eira Evans is travelling to Canada in July to research First Nations Art. She's busy fundraising for the trip and is offering a very generous 40% off her current collection. Corrinne's jewellery is entirely handmade and has wonderful combinations of silver, gold and titanium. Some of her work uses the ancient technique of flat chain mailing, which creates a fluid and tactile 'fabric'. Our 40% reduction ends midnight Sunday 21st May, so best be quick!
