The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Lots of pledges from teachers, maker and organisations to support craft education. If you believe every young person should have access to learning craft skills you could also make a pledge here

UNIQUES is Society of North American Goldsmiths' online sale of one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry and small metals.

We have so many amazing pieces for sale, all made by our members. This is a fundraiser for SNAG -- purchasing a piece supports both SNAG's programs and the individual artist.

Shop handmade for the holidays! Sale ends December 20th.

The Little Northern Contemporary Craft Fair returns to Altrincham Town Hall on Sunday 8 December,  just in time for Christmas shopping.

This is an opportunity to buy beautiful, unique, handmade presents – including jewellery, ceramics, fashion and home accessories, glass and prints – directly from a carefully curated selection of 40 stand-out independent designer-makers and artists.

Opening times: 10.00am-4.00pm

Entrance fee: £3 on the door or buy tickets in advance on line here

All proceeds from the LNCCF help us subsidise space for new makers at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair and fund our outreach work, providing craft workshops for disadvantaged people attending The Oasis Centre in Gorton.

The Goldsmiths' Centre
Applications Now Open for Goldsmiths' Precious Metals Grants 2020
The Goldsmiths’ Centre has now opened applications for its Precious Metal Grant competition aimed at HND, BA or MA level students studying jewellery, silversmithing or a related subject. The grant offers students the opportunity to design and produce a piece of their own work in precious metals supplied by Cookson Precious Metals (London) worth £750 (incl. VAT).

These annual bursaries give up to 12 silversmiths and 8 jewellers the unique opportunity to design and make jewellery, silver or associated pieces in precious metal, based on the quality of their submitted designs.
