Thank you Gary, It does seem unusual but I bought 3"/4" milled buck-eye and glued 3 layers. interior of trunk is hollow. I used the arbortech carver/grinders solely..no hand carving except just a few areas.The snake was also built up and carved from solid wood. I had fun...most of the time!
