In this work I attempt to speak about family connections and learned traits, while questioning the modes and methods in which boys learn how to become men. By referencing and abstracting objects that a male adolescent encounters during this transient period, I have created jewelry which reflects pneumatic intentions. I question the necessity and harmony evident in conflicting attributes of the learned male experience.

Objects are used as teaching devices from an early age, cross-culturally throughout the globe. Whether it is a toy gun, doll, or small kitchen, children are taught how to fulfill the role of a contributing member of society through interacting with objects. These jewelry pieces are meant to serve as a reminder of my learned masculine traits.
