TEDxFargo: Michael Strand - The Spaces Between: Art, Craft and Humanity

Michael Strand is an Associate Professor and Head of Visual Arts at North Dakota State University, for more information about Michael and his projects head to www.michaeljstrand.com. Formatively a potter, and interested in the potential of functional art in today's society, Strand's work has moved seamlessly into Community Engagement and Social Practice. "The Spaces Between: Art, Craft and Humanity" presents Strand's recent projects that are focused on asking unique questions that challenge the conventional wisdom of how objects move into the world.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
