Event Description

Call for Entry: RESOLUTELY AMBIGUOUS:

Entry Due:  March 1, 2014

Entry Fee: $25

Exhibition Dates:  April 21 – May 5, 2014

Contemporary metalsmiths and jewelers radically expanded the use of materials and techniques while at the same time honoring the traditions of the past.

The juried exhibition “Resolutely Ambiguous” presents work, which balances traditional craftsmanship and radical use of new materials.

The exhibition will be presented at the Walker Shop, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis in April 2014 as part of the SNAG conference. During the conference lunchtime tours to the exhibition will be arranged.

The Walker Art Center is known for its innovative presentations and acclaimed collections of contemporary art across the spectrum of the visual, performing, and media arts. It is now ranks among the five most-visited modern/contemporary art museums in the United States and, together with the adjacent Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, attracts more than 600,000 visitors per year.

Juror: Masako Onodera

Masako Onodera utilizes craft techniques in her art and connects the audience emotionally to the materials and practices employed. She is an assistant professor at University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, WI.  www.masakoonodera.com
