Bezels can be far more than just a ring of metal enclosing a stone. Learn to transform a common thick walled bezel into elegant carved and pierced frames for your gems. Explore and create alternative setting designs by transforming bezels into prongs, tabs and channels, with elaborate serrated and scalloped patterns. Instruction covers techniques of forming, shaping, soldering, and precision layout. Plus, learn how to execute patterns and repetitive design elements, set stones with a hammer, punch and more. Prerequisite: Fabrication 2. 16 hours
