Epoxy Resin Workshop
at The Ranch
Instructor: Nanz Aalund
December 12
10am – 4pm
If you’ve worked with wire/metals or metal clays, you’ll want to learn how to incorporate resins in your work! And this workshop comes just in time for the Holidays!! Learn to capture photographs, drawings, or layer found objects in clear epoxy into your own open bezels, bezel cups, etc for earrings, pendants and other jewelry elements. We will also: learn to layer the resin with colored paper; color resin with pigment; discover finishing options and clean-up of projects. Expect to come away with several finished pieces – and the skills to continue on your own!
Course # 09W1212 $135. (Materials list to follow)
Nanz Aalund's first recognized jewelry piece was a silver pendant that won her a "Gold Key" Scholastic Art Award in high school! Over the past 25 years as a goldsmith and jewelry designer, she has: taught jewelry and metals classes at the University of Washington and Art Institute in Seattle; served as a fine jewelry designer and consultant for Nordstrom, Rudolf Erdel, Neiman Marcus, and Tiffany & Co.; and was the associate editor for Art Jewelry magazine. Most recently, Nanz authored authored "Masters: Gold," published by Lark Books – and won First Place in the 2009 Jewelry Arts Awards (using some of the same techniques she will be teaching in this workshop!!)
