The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Zsuzsi Morrison Jewellery
Jewellery Showcase

Using traditional enamelling techniques Zsuzsi’s jewellery is imbued with a joyful exuberance. The jewel-like intensity achieved in her colour palette is re-invented through this ancient process. The exquisite detailing on even the reverse sides of her pieces is testimony to the meticulous care in the hand making and finishing of every piece. Poised somewhere between jewellery, sculpture and paintings, Zsuzsi’s work could be described as modern day talismans or amulets, each piece an individual work of art.

Traces: Kate Haywood
The Language of Clay Part II
3rd Aug - 14th September 2019

Exhibition Opens Saturday 3rd Aug 12-2pm

Kate’s work may appear strangely familiar as you may sense the form of a horn drinking cup or a colour palette resonant of Elizabethan tapestries. The surfaces on which her work is placed reverberate with shadows of human things. Her objects are made at the edge of her consciousness, in the place where fiction and truth collide.

Traces is an exhibition in The Language of Clay series, a Mission Gallery National Touring initiative curated by Ceri Jones
