The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Come out to play at this weekend of games, conversations and workshops. Explore who gets to play, who is represented in play, and why play is so important for us all. Highlights include Tomo Kihara’s game that tricks artificial intelligence into thinking that it’s seeing violence or sexiness, and Abi Palmer’s Crip Casino of hacked fruit machines.

Residential Masterclass:
How to Make Your Work Stand Out to Agents, Editors and Readers
Building upon a successful pilot in 2018, we are pleased to share details of a new Residential Masterclass taking place from 27 - 30 March 2020. This is designed specifically for those writing fiction or non-fiction, for adults or children, and are yet to secure an agent or have their work published.
Led by writer and former resident Genevieve Herr and LBA Books literary agent Louise Lamont, this course will focus upon how to make your writing stand out to agents, editors and readers, the process of publishing a book and the roles of the agent and editor. Further information and details of how to book - by the new deadline of 19 February 2020 - are available here. https://covepark.org/how-to-make-your-work-stand-out-to-agents-edit...
