I had the pleasure of working and shopping at the One of a Kind Show this year and I wanted to share with you some of the talented artists I met and worked for.

Every year I enjoy selling and promoting the work of Naomi Levitin. We met roughly 5 years ago when I was a plucky young jewellery student and I asked her if I could be a 'booth sitter' for her. She reluctantly agreed to let me sell a couple of hours, and now I work every day of the show for her! It's a wonderful relationship because her work is gorgeous, high quality and reasonably priced and therefore easy to sell.

She always comes with a good friend of her's Anat Basanta who also has a strong following at the show and gorgeous work.

Naomi wanted to get me a Christmas present so we went over to Honeybea Design Hive and she got me one of her ultra chic wraps. I wear it all the time! She also makes 'bum warmers' which sold out in the first couple of days of the show!

Since Naomi is pregnant! (ya!) I got her a sweet baby wrap from Kissed Baby which she loved. They specialize in upscale baby wraps as well as everyday cotton.

Naomi also purchased some sweet handmade baby toys from Cate and Levi.

Also since my mom's birthday was in the middle of the show I got her a ceramic bowl she'd had her eye on since the LAST One of a Kind Show from Just Clay by Indira Singh. She adores it!

I also couldn't resist picking up a handmade bird house from Moore Design Birdfeeders for my grandmother who LOVES birdfeeders. They suction cup to your window, so she can watch them right at her living room window.

Some other artists that caught my eye are: Hanscombglass

Jouets du Quebec

Krystal Speck

Pamela Lauz

Visit the One of a Kind Show, or exhibit yourself in the Spring! I'll see you there.

and what was actually selling?

Harriete Estel Berman

Hi Harriete,

I've uploaded images since you messaged so that should give you an idea of what was selling. My vendor Naomi Levitin sells work from $65 - 400 and she sells a lot of rings for $120 - 250. Otherwise the show is really large and all over the place with prices. Foxy is the lowest priced successful jewellery vendor I know. However there are many upscale jewellery vendors creating fine gold and silver jewellery with precious gemstones. I find people usually buy a lot of jewellery for themselves, and I see people walking around with a lot of home decor items like wine racks, candle holders and bird feeders. It's a wonderful show with a lot of variety. There are also lots of fine artists selling paintings and sculptures.

I agree, she took really great care presenting her work in a different way to attract customers. She did a great job - it works.
Isn't it!? We went to school together and she has a wonderful collection. I love that image as it shows the whole creative process from inspiration, to drawings to finished product.
I just added the ceramic plate I bought for my mom from Just Clay. Gorgeous!

May I quote you.

I am writing a blog post about her photo on ASK Harriete

as part of my discussion on photography. It will be posted in the New Year..

If you haven't read the current posts on photographic backgrounds, it has been a very interesting investigation into photography for arts and makers of 3-dimensional work.

Today's post on ASK Harriete has links at the bottom to all the previous posts.

Best Regards for the New Year.

That's great! You are welcome to quote me. I have a collection of images I use in a presentation about online marketing specifically touching on backgrounds, if you'd like any I am willing to share them. They are mostly from Etsy, but demonstrate the way background can enhance an image well.

I sent you an email.

Send me your images if your willing to take a chance.

No guarantees.
