HANDCRAFTING VIRGINIA'S CULTURAL ECONOMY
The Artisans Center of Virginia, the official state organization representing VA’s artisan community, assists artists, agri-artisans & businesses across the Commonwealth, developing innovative solutions to improve economic outcomes for Virginia’s artisans & their communities.
Inventive collaborations happen when artists come together, sharing techniques & skills, exhibiting work & sharing their love of the arts which play a critical role in creating healthy & vibrant communities.
Over 4,000 craft artisans reside and practice in the Commonwealth of VA. The Artisans Center of Virginia is dedicated to ensuring artisan craft businesses are a valued mainstay to the economic vitality of VA communities.
PROGRAMS & SERVICES
VIRGINIA'S "ARTISAN TRAIL NETWORK"- connecting visitors to artist studios, galleries, retailers & agri-artisans across the state, highlighting the artisan story, giving visitors an enriching experience, while linking to points of interest, restaurants, & accommodation locations.
ACV JURIED VA ARTISAN & MASTER ARTISAN MEMBERS- official state jury for craft artisans, representing the highest quality hand-crafted work.
ACV STUDIO SCHOOL- WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT- providing business & entrepreneurial training needed to operate, market & sell products & services. ex: “Invoking Your Art as Business” seminars.
RETAIL AFFILIATES- elevating commercial & non-profit enterprises representing VA artisans.
STATEWIDE ARTISAN CONFERENCE- reaching hundreds of VA artisans, artists and agri-artisan businesses looking to network and who utilize a diverse range of materials, business technologies and marketing materials. THE VIRGINIA OYSTER TRAIL- developing a unified visitor-directed experiential trail focused on the VA Oyster. Anticipated launch date: November 2015.
