Interdisciplinary. Community. Advocacy. Humor.
This series of works, made using vintage vinyl wallpaper that would have been found in American kitchens, contemplate labor. In particular, the invisibility and devaluing of domestic, emotional and otherwise feminized forms of labor. The time spent on each piece was meticulously logged to help account for and make visible the time spent in their creation, to not only acknowledge that even seemingly simple tasks require skill but to assist in assessing their valuation within capitalist markets. All works are hand-fabricated made from 95% recycled or repurposed materials.
