The sister piece to Song of Experience - The Lily this is based on William Blake's introduction to his Songs of Innocence and Experience. Both pieces were made for the Association for Contemporary Jewellery's Exhibition Stain-less as part of Sheffield's Galvanise festival of contemporary metalwork.

“And I made a rural pen,
And I stain’d the water clear,
And I wrote my happy songs
Every child my joy to hear.”
William Blake – Songs of Innocence and Experience
A hand piece echoing the innocent action of dipping your hand in to a bubbling brook.
