This box won Award of Merritt at the 2004 Craft Houston.

Here are some photos of the inside. The center is a real barnacle and the others are cast fine silver. I always wondered what a live barnacle looked like, so I made my own. I took crab claws and electroformed gold and silver on them.  I created gold and silver gills on the underside.

The smaller ones have silver tails and the older ones have gold tails. Each sit in a special hole which forms a puzzle. Inside the center of the box is a ruby, the hive's hart. Each of the barnicals are inside hatching.  The drawer has a photo etching of a map.

This is fabulous. Please bring some of your work to California. I'd love to see some great metalwork.
