I am a .... Example: Student, Maker, Educator, etc.
I make jewelry and sculptural boxes with sterling silver, mineral stones and an array of found, vintage or repurposed materials. These everyday materials can be a piece of broken windshield glass, a fragment of plastic from a doll shoe, a found pebble or shell, or even a tiny stuffed pillow sewn from the plastic of a thrifted rain poncho. By using non-traditional and often overlooked materials as the "stones" in my metal work I encourage the viewer to observe these common, sometimes discarded materials, in a new light. Through a variety of techniques and concepts I create small objects and adornment that breathe new life into the mundane thus challenging the viewer to reconsider their definition of beauty.

Hey - so good to see you here! Hope things are going well for you, Jamie Jo - the work is as wonderfully interesting and fun as ever. It's great to see the continuity in the evolution of the pieces. The stitched sections are a really nice addition to the mix.
Will you be doing any shows here? How about the Clayton show in
the fall?
It's good to see you here, I was just coincidentally looking at the work on your site yesterday! Love the new pieces up on the site here. I skipped Ann Arbor this year, were you there?
Hi Jaime Jo,
I am enjoying being in Virginia - we are in Sandy Hook - real close to Richmond. I loved looking at your work and look forward to seeing more! In a couple of weeks I am going to Illinois to teach a workshop at SIUE for the Society for Midwest Metalsmiths and plan to hang out with Charity for a day.
Take Care,
xoxo Marlene
Jaime,
I'm really liking your new stuff-just checked out your photos. couldn't get a 3 day pass this year to ACL so no Sept trip to Austin for us this year, considering SXSW though.
