Hello everyone,
Again I have doubts!
I am unsure of how much metal grain to order for making two wedding rings with a strip of yellow gold and white gold.
The goal is to create a 19.2k alloy by combining 18k and 24k gold.
I have calculated the amount of metal required for the final product, but I am unsure about the additional metal needed to cast an ingot, roll it into a sheet, and cut strips for the wedding rings.
The price of gold greatly affects the order cost and quote for my customers.
Thank you in advance for all your contributions and for sharing your knowledge with me!
I have searched this forum with various keywords, but I have not found any relevant information. I apologize if I missed any similar topics.
Wish you all a great day!

Just finished adding a few extra links onto a customers curb link chain and they would like each link hallmarked to match the rest of the links. Does anyone have any advice on how to/what to use to brace the back of the link. Was planning on using a small dapping punch secured in a vice. just went to try it and discovered I need to grow an extra hand, one to hold the chain, one to hold the stamp and another to hit it with a hammer.
All advice welcome and appreciated,
cheers!
Matt

Those familiar with some of Hans Meevis’ fantastical creations will enjoy seeing more of them here:

There are many useful, brilliant tips to be found in his project descriptions.
Apparently a number of pieces were stolen from a self-storage area.
