Stacy Rodgers

Various Species

Medium/Materials: Sterling silver, copper, brass, seashell

Dimensions:  4 x 4 x 1 inches

Photographer: Ashley Barch

SOLD!

Artist Statement:

My work focuses on lines; the delicate undulating lines found in the details of a starfish, a microscopic organism or the veins of the human eye; and the negative space that ebbs and flows between those lines. Each piece is a combination of line drawings hand pierced in metal then layered one on top of another endeavoring to create a depth of unseen spaces within the lines.

2016 Halstead Design Challenge

Make it Shake, Rattle & Spin! This call-for-action was made to 100 lucky recipients of the 2016 Halstead Design Challenge kits. Each kit contained 50 components. Artists were asked to create a kinetic brooch using the supplies and adding a found object. Selected brooches were featured in an exhibition at Blue Spiral 1 gallery during SNAGneXt in May 2016 and some are still available for purchase in this online exhibition. A portion of any proceeds is used to raise funds for SNAG.
