I've been trying to apply a decorative border to the "theatre" in which the Cold Genius will be a player. The border is a rolled strip of silver with a pattern on it and I've been trying to solder it to the edge of the lid.
Of course, I've gone about this totally the wrong way, and have cut the lid before applying the strip. If I had done it the other way round, it would have been easier.
I managed to get the two main strips on and then decided it was time for the weekend!
I'm really not sure why I did this the wrong way round. It isn't as if I've never done similar work before:
Comment
Catherine: thanks! Glad it was of use.
Lora: the problem is that the metal bends bizarrely once they are bonded together, so heating another area to solder it, causes the adjacent areas to bend!
Thanks for the kind comments. Everyone has problems sometimes with things like this and it is no shame to get things wrong.
