Marilyn Druin - extraordinary color, composition, and design
“Some artists are social commentators.
They interpret and comment upon life....
I try to take some of earth's essential elements and create my own world with order and harmony where my mind can be at peace."
- Marilyn Druin, 1999
Sadly, Druin passed away in November 2001 - around two years after the date of her quote. She used gold very effectively to form high-contrast, complex patterns against a variety of enameled backgrounds. Druin’s work presents wonderful observations in color, design and the use of negative space.
