Pricing - how, when, why

recent musings.....i have been engaged most recently in repricing all of my work. i have given careful thought to this over the past couple of months & have come to realize that, in some cases, i was actually sellling my work at wholesale prices (or very close to it). so.....after some research (thanks, thomas mann), i have repriced every single item in my inventory. result - the retail price of most items has increased, from just a few dollars to as much as 30%, which is huge. those pieces however are ones that are quite time consuming to produce and/or have a lot of sterling silver.

anyway, more about this issue (of another issue later). live & learn, eh?

yes, there was indeed some anxiety. i had been thinking about the issue for quite some time and, once i began doing serious research & thinking clearly about what i was doing, the decision felt natural and not so scary. however, i will say that i have just begun to put my pieces out into the world with the new (& improved!) prices. we shall see what happens. i truly believe that the prices are must closer to where they need to be; i feel comfortable with the decision and the action. thank you for the supportive comment.
