My work is inspired by the very materials I work with. My love for textiles led me to create my own ‘masculine fabric’ using fine silk and cotton threads woven into mesh and metal.

Using architecture, particularly skylines, and everyday objects as inspiration for form and geometric patterns and bright colors, I have created work that defies the tradition of feminine fabric. My pieces have a quality that makes the viewer want to touch them, expecting it to be soft but they are surprised when the surface is rigid and unyielding.

The collection is a mix of small scale wearable pieces and larger wall hangings. Hand pierced frames encase press formed brass mesh which is powder coated, silk is woven into the mesh to create colorful linear patterns based on city skylines. Each piece is brightly colored with geometric forms which combine to make a unique, fun and eye-catching collection.

I have just completed my BA(HONS)at the School of Jewellery, Birmingham City University in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. I am currently based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
