Hi Kelly. I understand the contour thing. My work is often based on stencil graffiti techniques, layering stacks of color plates to create an image. I did one piece a while ago that utilized the 'scrap' material from around my pierced pieces to build a second matching piece that was in the vein of sprayed, freehand graffiti. Freehand lays down the black contour lines (called a basic or outside stamp) last, but stencils vary. Check out this pair of brooches and you'll see what I'm babbling about: http://www.flickr.com/photos/csulb_metal/sets/72157603047850416/
Many people have responded to these and the bold black contour of the negative brooch. Good luck working on your pieces, sounds like you're busy thinking hard! MDB
Sales have been slow all around, and the Artful Home site just changed hands. They are doing things differently so we'll have to wait and see what happens there. Thanks for the kind words about my work, and congratulations on your acceptance to the grad program at Edwardsville! That's great news. I am really enjoying all the interaction and news sharing on this site already.

Thanks for the friend and for the tip about Beverly Penn! That name sounds familiar -- I will check her out!
