Sara Nevay: This is really an intermediary post before I post some actual samples over the weekend. For the moment, here's how some of the pieces Nicola has sent me are coming along;

Pearl Wire Rings - these have, for the most part, gone through the pinkier spectrum of rusting but also, somewhere along the way, blue! Very unexpected. Must investigate.

Suspender Clasps and Hook - I love the emerging edges where you can see the vulnerable metal beneath. And below, a trio of rusty friends whom I found on my walk to and from work today. I like the idea of including found weather-worn items in our experiments and not solely items that we have set about to deliberately rust/affect.

Would love to know what people think of the inclusion of found objects? Do you think it enhances the project?

Does anyone know of any artists who include rusted - "ugly" - found objects in their work?

I would love to hear your thoughts!

I really enjoy seeing 'found objects' included in work and I think it enriches the work if done well. A good example would be work by a fellow Brit here on Crafthaus, take a look at The Justified Sinner's pieces. I think you'll like them.

I have been following your posts religiously ( thank you for being so great with postings ) and I was thinking more than once that it is about time I found myself a cooperating partner too. What a unique experience. Great job, ladies!
