The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Jewellery design and making at the scrap Co-op
We are a group of jewellery designers, artists and illustrators recently graduated from Central St Martins looking to share our skills with refugees and displaced people currently residing in Athens.

We will use the funds from our campaign to purchase jewellery making and designing materials, in Athens, that we will use in 2-3 day short courses. The tools will be left at the scrap coop, the non-profit workshop space where we will be hosting the short courses for use in future courses and in future projects.

We want to celebrate and honour the craftsmanship and every single person who creates soulful pieces with their own hands.

A tribute to all makers for their wisdom, storytelling, and for building history with beautiful creations through ancient techniques and raw materials. We stand up for the ones that keep the art of craftsmanship alive. A desire to reveal the process as a peer of the finished product itself.

In this journey from the past towards a new cultural progress, we are committed to promoting creativity and innovation, to respecting traditions and safeguarding the heritage.

We support those who devote themselves to the excellence of craftsmanship. https://www.covetfoundation.com/
