The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

JamFactory Icon: Catherine Truman: no surface holds
Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, 7 June - 21 July
The JamFactory Icon series was launched in 2013 as a series of solo exhibitions celebrating the achievements of South Australia’s most outstanding and influential craft and design practitioners. Each exhibition presents leading practitioners with significant national and international profiles and considerable influence in their chosen field. Catherine Truman was selected as JamFactory's 2017 Icon and her exhibition Catherine Truman: no surface holds is currently traveling the country. Entries for the Victorian Craft Awards are now open
Established by Craft Victoria in 2015, the Victorian Craft Awards present and celebrate excellence in contemporary craft practice. 2019 marks the third iteration of this biennial event, showcasing the diversity of Victorian craft practice and highlighting the cultural and personal value of handmade crafted objects.
 
With over $20,000 in prize money, supported by generous sponsors and the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria, the Awards provide significant support to contemporary craft artists. The range of awards across different craft forms will be announced shortly.
 
Applications by established, mid-career and emerging artists utilising craft skills, processes and materials are encouraged from across Victoria, with applications open until Monday 15 July 2019.
 
Works by the finest contemporary makers in Victoria will be selected for exhibition, with this years’ finalists being announced on Friday 9 August 2019.

COMPETITION : IDENTITY

Handmade Oxford and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford are proud to present the competition Identity.

Works on the theme of personal identity and self-expression were invited and the submissions are in! We’re down to the final shortlist.

All shortlisted artists will be on show at the Ashmolean Museum, online at the Ashmolean Museum online shop, and at Handmade Oxford 27-30 June 2019.

The panel of judges: Emma Bridgewater, renown designer and manufacturer; Matthew Winterbottom, Curator of Sculpture and Decorative Arts, Ashmolean Museum and Shirley Jackson, Commercial Director, Ashmolean Museum will choose a winner.

The winner of the judges panel and the public vote will be announced at 7pm on Thursday 13 June 2019.

The call for entries for the seventh edition of Artistar Jewels is officially open. Artistar Jewels is an international project dedicated to international contemporary jewelry.
 
Artistar Jewels is an annual project, now in its 7th edition, that promotes contemporary jewellery artists and designers. The participants have the chance to have their creations published in the volume distributed all over the world, exhibited in a prestigious location in the heart of Milan and sold on the online shop www.artistarjewels.com
