The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

In the past few years, 3D printing has gained tremendous momentum. Starting with plastic, the range of products has been extended to anything from metal ship's propellers to concrete houses. The latest project using concrete 3D printing is one by ETH Zürich, in which nine different columns were printed, without the use of formwork.

It’s all about the event; it’s all about jewellery as connection, performance, social conduit, code conveyer and icebreaker. It’s about celebrating the celebration of jewellery and object that is Radiant Pavilion. It’s about the power of an arts event to bring like-minded people together, and make new connections! It’s about attracting attention to what we do, via an explosion of energy and experimentation!

So we hail you: our local and visiting crew of jewellers and artists unafraid to delve into the jewellery realm, to invite you to send us a proposal for your own one-night-only, ‘jewellery’ festival experience creation!

Specializing in contemporary jewelry, Ruddy Metal Studio (RMS) has initiated and curated the ‘Contemporary Human Beings Recruitment Project’, dedicated in finding cross-boundary artists who use multiple and various materials in their creations. Based on this project, those who are selected will be provided space by RMS to manufacture and exhibit their jewelry work at E6 · Bentu One in Beijing from 26.07.2019 to 28.07.2019.
