The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Don't delay! December 20th is the deadline for SNAG's 2020 Adorned Spaces.

The 2020 SNAG Philadelphia conference is seeking curators, organizations, schools, and individuals to offer a fresh look at the field of contemporary metalsmithing through a multiple-exhibition and sale event called Adorned Spaces.

SNAG will offer spaces to applicants interested in creating their own pop-up exhibition at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel. Twenty-four different pop-up galleries will occupy a meeting room during the conference on May 21 and 22, 2020. This event and participating artists will be actively featured in conference promotional materials including the conference website, advertisements, and in the conference program brochure. A special closing reception and sale highlighting Adorned Spaces will be held during the conference.

Extended deadline: December 20th, 2019.

The Festive Season is rapidly approaching! If you are looking for an early Christmas present for a loved one or to treat yourself then we still have three spaces available on our course for beginners in Manchester (14/15 December 2019.)
For experienced engravers the ideal present would be a place on our Focus on Lettering Course to be held in London on Sunday 23rd February 2020. Don't forget members get a discount. To join the Hand Engravers Association please click here.

Classes are returning to MAKING SPACE
We're looking to relaunch a programme of 5 and 10 week courses from April 2020, so we'd love to hear from tutors who would be interested in leading these sessions. The courses will be demand-led, so we have been asking our users what crafts they are most interested in and when they would like to do them.
If you would like to offer a course, please click on the button below and we will be in touch to discuss the plans further.

I'd like to teach at Making Space!

If you are a maker interested in teaching one-off workshops, or just using our space for your own projects, don't forget we have just launched a range of new Making Opportunities, these affordable and inspiring options give you the opportunity to "make the most of Making Space".
We hope that you, as our loyal friends and supporters, will help us promote and make use of these fantastic opportunities. Please get in touch for more information or to make a booking.
