I work with deconstructed kids meal toys, old food tins, tiny objects with a history...coins, buttons, saint medals, etc. I cast work in bronze, silicone and plastic. I also enjoy the freedom and spontaneity of working in clay.
Currently working in fused glass, trying to integrate my love for color and glass with my metal work
My work is influenced by a career as a laboratory technician and a wastewater treatment plant operator.
Inspired by beauty and humor found in unexpected places, I share my enthusiastic view of the organisms that live in and around waste.
Food, water and waste are recurring topics in my work.
Food is a topic I often explore. Food is more than fuel. It forms memories and reinforces relationships. It is culture and ritual. At times, it is obsession. Food is a common thread that weaves us together.
