Through the introduction of various forging techniques in copper and silver, students will create organic, calligraphic wire forms to be used in jewelry and objects. Students will also learn how to design and construct pieces using multiple units together to create a larger form and structure.
Heather Bayless completed her BFA at Miami University and earned her MFA in Korea as a Fulbright Scholar. She currently teaches at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. Her work has been shown and published throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. She has also received several major awards, including First Prize out of 3,500 designers for the 2009 Massimo Martini Design Award.
January 30, 6:00pm Heather Bayless will give a public lecture the first night of the workshop. The artist will discuss concepts and techniques as well as present sample works. Tickets are $5 for the public and free to workshop participants.
