is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Studio Space at Koru Arts
Koru Arts resident Artist, Jodi, is leaving in October to go travelling and
will then have studio space available to let.
The space measures approximately 3.3 x 4 metres, screened off from a main art display area which is used by all the resident artists to display examples of their
work to visitors.
Koru Arts are a family run business specialising in Glass Art and Portrait Art along with a dedicated teaching area that can seat up to 10 people. This area is available by separate arrangement for Artists to rent the space in order to run their own teaching courses.
Situated in a quiet and peaceful area and adjacent to the studio space is a large glass studio. You will be working in a relaxed and beautifully lit environment, looking out onto private gardens. You will be able to see and experience other artistic activities as there are two other resident artists using the glass studio on a regular basis, along with students and other teachers who hire out the teaching studio from time to time. They are looking for either a professional or semi-professional maker who will fit in with the community feel they are trying to create
Price: £280 per calendar month to include electricity.
Use of the glass studio can be arranged through separate negotiation.

Craft & Events Internship Vacancy at Farnham Maltings
We aim to inspire and train our interns by giving them the chance to gain valuable practical experience of working within the arts sector.
Starting in September 2013 this opportunity will last for a 6 month period.
You will work closely with our Craft and Events team on a variety of different projects learning first-hand the reality of working in a professional arts organisation. This position is ideal for people interested in arts administration and/or events management. This is a fixed term position working four days (30 hours) a week for 6 months; we are able to offer £6.31 per hour.
This role will support the Craft & Events team with administration; marketing and contribute to the development and delivery of a programme of craft events, festivals and workshops at Farnham Maltings.
This internship is supported by the Creative Employment Programme, designed to help young jobseekers gain work experience. To be eligible for this role candidates must be claiming Job Seekers Allowance at the time of application.

Professional Development Workshops for Visual and Applied Artists
Interested in developing your practice into new directions and refreshing your skills and knowledge?
This series of workshops focuses on different ways of achieving your personal goals: whether through self-initiated projects, responding to existing briefs or applying your research and creative interests to specific sites and contexts.
Run by experienced arts professionals Frances Lord and Belinda Holden each workshop focuses on a different aspect of artistic practice, offering case studies, practical solutions, debate and discussion.
Frances and Belinda also offer One to One Portfolio and Mentoring sessions to enable participants to consolidate on what has been learned during the workshops; to brainstorm an idea for a project or collaboration, or discuss taking their practice into a new area or different direction.
