is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

festival of crafts
Farnham Maltings is delighted to host its 15th annual festival of crafts bringing together 80 designer-makers and offers a great opportunity for visitors to buy bespoke craft pieces and gain inspiration from skilled professionals. Contemporary crafts on show include ceramics, textiles, glass, metal, jewellery and wood.
This year’s festival will feature Making Surrey, a county-wide project funded by the Arts Partnership Surrey and Arts Council England and project managed by Farnham Maltings and Tandridge Leisure Ltd. Professional craft-makers have taken up residency in communities across the county to deliver a high quality programme of craft-related activity, some of which will be exhibited and demonstrated at festival of crafts.
Surrey Guild of Craftsmen will also be at the festival demonstrating the diverse crafts they have within their membership and promoting the work of professional crafts people throughout the county. Their members’ work will be available to purchase from shop maltings, Farnham Maltings’ craft and vintage store.
A full programme of all exhibitors will be available at the festival but you can preview them by clicking here.

A great event put on by the Metal Arts Guild. Sign up on MAG's site. And look real close to see which one is my hand on the poster! Hint... I think I am holding the most dangerous tool of the group.
