The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Creative practitioners to run courses

Criteria

The Motorcycle Showroom is looking to deliver an exciting programme of courses to be run independently by creative practitioners within our brand new dedicated workshop spaces. As an artist led co-operative The Motorcycle Showroom's goal is to provide a dynamic educational facility to cater for diverse set of workshops that can be anything from film, photography, ceramics, print, casting, metal, stone and wood work etc.

Building International Links

Criteria

Experienced artist/curator The Reveal partnership are seeking an experienced artist/curator to enable Somerset to expand its networks by building international links with artists, artist-led groups and organisations who share similar values, issues and vision.

Details

The artist/curator will be offered a fixed fee of £2000 for approx 12 days work, plus £1000 expenses. It is expected that the expenses will cover all travel to and from Somerset. This is part of an action research project There are two key delivery points to this research, the first is to contribute to the Reveal conference in March 2012 and the second is to influence the planned Cultivate 2 exhibition in late April/May 2012. Artsadmin Traineeship

Criteria

Individuals with high standards of organisational and communication skills, preferably with experience of working in arts/project management. Artsadmin aims to be an arts lab for the 21st Century with a focus on performance, site-specific and interdisciplinary work. Artsadmin support artists at all stages of their career by helping artists realise ambitious ideas and projects. Artsadmin’s Traineeship programme has been running for a number of years. Each year, one candidate is offered a twelve-month traineeship in producing, project management and the provision for resources to artists, with a view to developing a career in contemporary arts.

Anyone interested in working in the contemporary art world and is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in careers in contemporary art. Tokarska gallery is looking for motivated and detail-oriented volunteers.Candidates must be willing to work hard, learn new skills, and take on real responsibility in a professional manner. Also required are strong organizational and computer skills (knowledge of Word, Excel). Fluent English and professional manner required .

Making It, is an initiative by the Suffolk Craft Society offering recent graduates the opportunity of support in bridging the gap between education and the market place. The award offers successful applicants a two year period of membership to the Suffolk Craft Society. During this period participants will have access to Exhibition and Gallery selling opportunities, a supportive network of fellow professional artists/makers, the Friends of the Society and promotion through the website.

Applicants must have graduated at degree or diploma level in the last three years, be resident in Suffolk or have strong Suffolk connections, or live on the borders of the county. Up to three awards will be offered each year and the selection panel will be looking for –

• A high standard of design, originality, execution and presentation.
• Applicants who are in the situation to be productive enough and show the professional will to take full advantage of this opportunity.
