Exhibition Space available at Farnham Library
Steve Sansom, manager at Farnham Library, would like to invite local artists about the possibility of displaying their works in space vacated by the highly revered Crosby Murals. This is a great opportunity for local artists to show their work and give more variation to the library walls. The Murals have been a very significant part of the fiction library and I.T. area of the library, so Steve is very anxious to see the walls filled with artwork as good as these.
For more information please contact Steve at steve.sansom@surreycc.gov.uk or please ring 0300 200 1001 to arraneg to view the space.

Share the secret: how to enjoy Christmas shopping
Hi Fellow craft business

Yes, Christmas is nearly here, but we know that many people haven't done their Christmas shopping yet, and, perhaps more importantly, many won't be looking forward to it. Many will be surfing online at the last minute, and wondering whether they will make the last posting date before Christmas.

But we know the secret to enjoying Christmas shopping: visiting our local craft fairs & galleries. Taking a friend and making a day of it just makes it more enjoyable. So how about we share our secret with as many people as possible? The more we can encourage and remind Christmas shoppers to visit their local fairs & galleries, the more we can support our designer-makers and our local independent businesses.

We've written a Facebook post exactly for that purpose (see 4 December). Please pop over and take a look - and share it if you can.

Here are more gorgeous images from three of our makers:

WEEKLY NEWS

Hi Rebecca

Over the next few weeks we are after some idea of videos that you would like us to film. Perhaps it is a particular tool that you want Andrew to demonstrate. Have you asked Santa for an item of equipment that you would like a little help on how to get the most from it? How about techniques? There are still plenty of techniques that Andrew has not covered as yet so if you want some help, just ask.

In the New Year we are off touring other peoples workshops. Andrew loves to see other peoples benches, loves to see what tools they use for a particular technique. If you would like Andrew to come along to your workshop for a couple of hours one day, just drop us an email and let us know Click here

Have a great weekend.

Yes, it’s that time of year again – the UK Watch and Jewellery Awards 2014 are open for entries. You’ll notice that we’ve had a slight name change, which we’ve done to reflect the growing presence of watch brands at this glamorous annual event.

The name may be slightly different but the ethos behind the awards remains the same. It is the only industry-judged event to recognise and celebrate excellence in all areas of the UK jewellery and watch industry, from Jewellery Brand to Store Design, and New Designer to Bridal Collection. See the full list of categories here: www.ukjewelleryawards.co.uk/categories

Because these awards are judged by those who work in the watch and jewellery industries, being a finalist at the UK Watch and Jewellery Awards really is a mark of excellence you can use to prove you are the best in your field. It also puts you in the best possible position to gain industry recognition for your outstanding business and staff.

Don’t miss your chance to shine in 2014. With no entry fee you have nothing to lose - enter here today: www.ukjewelleryawards.co.uk

Entry deadline: 28 February 2014

Need help with your entry? Contact our award entry specialist, Lucy Trevor on +44 (0)20 3033 2661 or email her at lucy.trevor@emap.com.

We look forward to seeing your entries.
