is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

You can now apply for the amazing opportunity of exhibiting at IJL under the highly successful KickStart initiative. Launched in 2009 as part of IJL's exciting Design Gallery, KickStart brings together ten exceptionally talented UK designers on a group stand.
Supported by the BJA, the up and coming designers who take part gain valuable business skills and guidance for dealing with retailers and the press, in addition to industry exposure and the introduction to numerous retail contacts at the UK's only dedicated jewellery trade event.
“IJL is one of the most important jewellery events of the year, and people come from all around the world to see new designers and trends. The Diamond Club and all the other initiatives bring top buyers to the show. I’ve received a lot of interest from good quality retailers and have recommended the show generally as well as KickStart because of the exposure and support of being part of it.” Doreth Jones
If you find the thought of exhibiting alone at a large trade show overwhelming or just don’t know where to start, this is the most ideal and worthwhile opportunity you could participate in to make sure your business is driven to the next level in 2012. You will be supported every step of the way by both the IJL Team and the BJA.

We hope you see the benefit of being involved in this exciting initiative and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes,
