Everything inspires me, the variety of life inspires me...I can't stop thinking:)) or doodling.

And I agree, you just have to go to your studio and start...every day, even if all you are doing is finishing up some polishing or calculations on a new stone...eventually you hit the IN-Zone and before you know it, it's dark outside!...

You know, I agree absolute quiet, until I  hit the IN-Zone, then it's Lounge Lizard music, Dino, Frank, Doris. I love to sing along, at this point the dogs usually leave the studio with their tails between their legs:))

Besides the usual stuff,  nano-nature, archeology, cosmology...... as a metalsmith, (and a crow, I love bright shiny objects:), any new tool or machine will set me on a roll!! I love to explore exactly how far I can push it's boundaries and in doing so I usually exceed my original vision about what the tool can do and realize that other tools I have can enhance the process.

I tend to start with an idea and let the piece take me where it wants to go...know what I mean??? So I'm constantly changing the piece throughout the process, re-cutting the stone or adding more metal. It's kinda an organic process. Which is a big change from how I started out, just 'rendering' and making exactly what I had in my sketch book.

AND I love mistakes more than anything!!!! Mistakes can set you free!!!
