This handbuilt clay sculpture is based on those face jugs made by black slaves of the South. It depicts on the back a route from Africa to America. It rests on a book titled The History of the Face Jug. It was made for an exhibition of face jugs held from September 17 to October 17, 2009, in North Augusta, South Carolina.
