Interdisciplinary. Community. Advocacy. Humor.
Ulysses Grant Dietz has been a Curator at the Newark Museum for his entire professional career. His dedication to one museum and one city includes a deep knowledge of the decorative arts. I made this pin for Ulysses because he gave a great lecture at the 2014 SNAG Professional Development Seminar addressing the many issues surrounding a museum collection. What work is selected for the collection? Why is one example chosen over the other to be acquired by the museum? What are the costs involved in collecting at the museum level? The information was important to hear.
While those questions can not be answered here, why not follow him on Facebook? He often features really interesting images with historic background or cultural insight.
This pin was a gift, a token of my appreciation for speaking at a program that I helped organize with Brigitte Martin.
Why not make your own name tag, and never wear a paper piece of trash ever again! Represent who you are and your personal style with your own custom made name tag.
