Through a Plexiglas window at the front of the pedestal a dial slowly rotates for the viewer to read the following words:
DIMENSION, STATE, REALIZE, DELIBERATE, ISSUE, ANGLE, CONNECTION, BIAS, PERSPECTIVE, REFECTION, MATERIAL, VALUE, CONSTRUCT, REVIEW, CRITICAL, SUBJECTIVE, VISION, CONTEXT, POINTED, PERCEPTION, CONSTRUCT, DIRECTION, COMPLEX, DEGREE, INCISIVE.
Fabricated from pre-printed, recycled steel, aluminum rivets. Electric motor for rotating dial.
For the entire piece over 575 metal triangles are cut, folded, and riveted together in a traditional quilt pattern.
The individual triangles are tilted at various angles, distorting the appearance of the pattern depending on your perspective. This is similar to words that have an entirely different meaning depending on the context in which they are used.
