is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Susan Beech Mid-Career Artist Grant 2019
Established by San Francisco-based jewelry collector Susan Beech, the objective of this $20,000 grant is to recognize a mid-career artist who has made a substantial contribution to the field of art jewelry. Applications will be accepted starting November 1, 2018.

Congratulations to Benedikt Fischer, winner of the 2018 Mari Funaki Award for Contemporary Jewellery in the Established category for his series of five Pearly Whites brooches, made from shell, mother of pearl, remanium and sculpey.
Benedikt will receive A$8000 and his work will enter the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria (subject to approval of the Board of Trustees).
Congratulations to Samira Goetz (Germany), winner of the A$2000 prize in the Emerging category for her necklace, DWELL. The judges commented that this piece “works so well and is extremely wearable despite the fact that it’s big. It’s bold and it’s well resolved.
