hey deborrah, so good to see you here! how are things?
were you in baltimore this past week?
as usual i was mostly confined to my booth and didn't stray much.
show was practically dead during wholesale, but picked up a bit on friday...anyway, leaving for atlanta in a few days...where and when will i see you next?
Hi Deborrah, It has been a long time since I've seen you. Things are better. I have been out of sorts for a couple of years. Last year I had my lower back fused. But I am much better now. I am working on some new photos. I will try to have them in next week. Jan
Hello,
Can't sleep! Thought I'd noodle around on this new site. I'm even planning things for our Holiday Show next year. Some good ideas have popped in there for more felted jewelry pieces. :-) Plus, I have more cards to pass out on escrip for the SMM meeting today that I hope will increase member participation. Aren't I good at 5 am!?! haha Later, LK
hi Deb,
Yes, I've been a missing link indeed but all is well and getting back in the metal groove. I love this site and need to spend some time getting new work up. Hope to see you soon, Gayle
Show was the worst financial bust...........ever!!! Though it was a lovely setting, my booth never looked better, the jewelry was stunning and I had a great time with all my friends. Hmmmmmmmm.
Tuesday would be fine for a meeting. Want to come here for breakfast or lunch while we work?
hey deborrah,
thanks for the happy thoughts about my work. i am doing clayton...i actually was heading to my studio when i realized i had 35 crafthaus emails in my spam folder...so i am trying to sift thru them....i might be here awhile....there is so many amazing things to look at here, i could get lost :O)
hope to see you in st. louis. are you doing clayton as well?
Deborrah,
Thank you very much. Teaching is going well. The show open this coming Friday September 3rd with a reception from 7-9. I want to put out a post to SMM so everyone knows. Hope to see you there, Kelly
Thank you so much! Yeah, I like the shadows some of my pieces create too and would love to push that even more.
How is the jewelry community in St Louis? I have been wanting to visit.
beautiful opal pieces...: )
Hi Deborrah,
Forgive me too for my late response. I have been too busy with deadlines and commissions. Thank you for the links. I have heard of the The Society for Midwest Metalsmiths but not Craft Alliance. Seems like a great place to visit. The jewelry here in Kansas City is not as developed as I was hoping for. There is a jewelry dept at KU, Lawrence other than that I have met some jewelers. I would love to go St. Louis and meets other jewelers! Good luck with your projects.
I do think it's fun to see if I can give the pieces a certain monumentality even if they are small in scale, and appreciate your comment very much. Your work is fascinating. What presence. A lovely pairing of organic and rock-hard elements. And very sculptural.
